The number of avian influenza outbreaks in Romania has reached 16, after another three outbreaks have been confirmed in poultry in Constanta and Arges counties, so the number of poultry affected by the disease amounts to 1,287, informs on Thursday the National Sanitary Veterinary and for Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA).
The number of cases of avian influenza detected in wild birds has also risen to 115. The cases have been registered in: Constanta - 47 cases, Ialomita - 2 cases, Galati - 17 cases, Tulcea - 1 case, Neamt - 26 cases, Giurgiu - 3 cases, Iasi - 1 case, Bacau - 9 cases, Teleorman - 2 cases, the municipality of Bucharest - 6 cases, Ilfov-1.
According to ANSVSA, from the confirmation date of the first outbreak, December 30, 2016, 3 have been extinguished. On the other hand, a number of 27 suspicions of avian influenza have been notified in wild and domestic birds which are waiting for confirmation from the specialist laboratory.
To this date, the avian influenza virus's presence has not been detected in commercial poultry enterprises.
