Romanian tennis player Oana Georgeta Simion won the futures tournament in Agadir (Morocco), equipped with total prizes worth 15,000 US dollars, on Saturday, 6-4, 6-1, against her fellow countrywoman Cristina Adamescu.
In the semifinals, Simion defeated Italian Nuria Brancaccio, 6-4, 6-4, and Adamescu defeated seed no. 2 Pia Konig, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.
Simion lost the doubles final she played alongside Croatian Marian Drazic, to the pair Pia Konig (Austria)/Miriana Tona (Italy), 4-6, 7-6 (5), 10-8.
