795,291 work contracts suspended and 155,675 terminated, until April 1

The number of suspended individual work contracts reached, on April 1, 795,291, and the number of work contracts terminated reached 155,675 announced, on Wednesday, the Labor and Social Protection Ministry (MMPS).

Thus, most suspended work contracts - 207,688 - were in the manufacturing industry, 56,361 in the retail and wholesale; reparation of vehicles and motorcycles sector, and 110,667 were noted in the hotels and restaurants domain.

On the other hand, of the 155,675 terminated individual work contracts, 30,873 were recorded in the retail and wholesale, reparation of vehicles and motorcycles sector, 27,174 in manufacturing, and 19,254 in construction.

"The Romanian Government has decided to support the employees in furlough by covering the entirety of the necessary sums. Thus, the employees that have employees with individual work contracts which they have recorded through REVISAL (register of employees, ed. n.) as entering furlough, will notify county labor agencies in the county where the company is recorded. The other persons, who have other forms of employment (registered sole traders, royalties, etc.), will notify county agencies for payments and social inspection in the county where they have their activity registered," the MMPS mentions.

According to the quoted source, the entire communication between those requesting and the institutions mentioned, as well as the submission of documents and requests, will be done by electronic mail.
