President Klaus Iohannis met on Thursday with the students who participated in the international and national physics Olympiad, and who are also involved in the "Cutting Edge Research in Romania" project, stating on the occasion that he wants Romania to offer them the adequate context to engage in homegrown research.
In a Facebook post, the President said that the meeting at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace with international and national physics Olympiad contestants was a special one that reminded him of his time as a physics teacher. "I praised them for their perseverance, for their work and achievements alongside their teachers and tutors. I was impressed by their maturity and vision for the future. I envision Romania providing the adequate context for them to continue along this path and get involved in Romanian research. I am confident that the 'Educated Romania' project will grow through them and hope that the example of their success becomes an inspiration and motivation," wrote the head of the state.
