1485 - Moldova's ruler Stephen the Great (1457-1504) pays personal homage to Polish King Casimir IV Jagiellon, at Kolomyia, in hopes of securing support for the reconquering of Chilia and Cetatea Alba southeastern citadels

1486 - Moldova's ruler Stephen the Great (1457-1504) builds a new royal palace at Harlau, to which a valuable chapel is added in 1492

1521 - Death of Wallachia's ruler Neagoe Basarab (1512-1521); author of teachings to his son Theodosie, founder of the bishopric church of Curtea de Arges (b. 1482)

1999 - National Agency for Housing (ANL) is set up in Bucharest

2000 - The Romanian delegation participating in the 24th edition of the Olympic Games in Sydney (Australia) obtained the 11th place in the medal ranking (11 gold medals, six silver, nine bronze)

2004 - Birth of swimmer David Popovici. He won the gold medal in the 200 m free (with a time of 1 min 43 sec 21/100), as well as the gold medal in the 100 m free (with a time of 47 sec 58/100), at the World Championships swimming in Budapest from June 2022
